This school year hasn't ended and already it's time
to plan for next. Join us for our Spring Open House
and experience the joys of educating your students
in a private Christian school.
Sending your kids off to school is a daunting task. Will they make new friends? Will they be safe? What are they about to learn? Do lessons align with what I know and believe? What will their teachers be like? These questions are common, especially for new parents. While you may have some easy, convenient options, are you making the best choice for your children?
Our lessons are based on a Biblical Worldview, delivered by educators who reflect the values you want your kids to learn.
LHA draws its enrollment from many local Christian churches. We have been blessed to have strong, faithful families who support the Biblical truths and practices which permeate our lessons and activities. We use scripture memorization, service projects, music, devotions and prayer to help our children understand the good news of Christ and to impact their community. We believe we are growing the leaders of tomorrow!
Light House Academy is a private, not-for-profit private Christian school which maintains high academic standards and expectations and reflects a Biblical Worldview through our lessons. Abeka and Bob Jones Press supply much of our curriculum as well many other supplemental resources. Student progress is regularly assessed using professional online tools. We also administer an Iowa based standards assessment near the end of each school year.
Our school ascribes to a Biblical Worldview. We seek to help each child reach their maximum potential spiritually, intellectually, socially, physically and emotionally in an environment that is both nurturing and challenging. Our desire is to grow life-long learners and risk takers who love and serve the Lord.
Our kindergarten package includes classes five days a week; Mondays through Thursdays are full days, and Friday is a half-day. The students experience a tremendous mix of lessons and activities, developing their foundational skills and social interactions.
Our elementary grades (first through fourth) partner in multi-grade level teams. With small class sizes, the teacher is able to interact more closely with the students.
The middle school years can be difficult; students grow up and need a new level of challenge. Grades 5 to 8 meet together and independently, depending on the subject or opportunity. They can receive a lot of personal attention, whether they exceed their grade standards or simply need more time to master the material.
Parent's often have more questions than can be answered through our published information. We invite you to contact us directly, by email or phone, to arrange a visit or meeting time.
